Stop & Smell the Roses – Why Damask Roses are More Than Just Pretty Flowers

Stop & Smell the Roses – Why Damask Roses are More Than Just Pretty Flowers

If someone had told me that one day I’d be this passionate about roses—that I’d start a garden and create a skincare product inspired by them—I would have found it hard to believe. It all began one spring with the planting of David Austin Roses in my garden. Soon, I found myself captivated by the calming effects of roses and drawn to incorporating their essence into my skincare. This journey didn’t happen overnight.

As I worked in my garden, I noticed that every time I stopped to smell the roses, my mood would lift. The beauty of the roses and their delicate, soothing scent brought a smile to my face no matter what was going on in my life. After years of living with anemia, I also realized that I needed skincare to deeply hydrate, soothe, and nourish my skin. Although I looked for products with pure, natural ingredients, I couldn’t find one that provided the gentle, healing touch I craved. So, I decided to create something of my own—a rose-based skincare formula that was as effective as it was delicate, with a subtle, natural fragrance.

Incorporating Damask Roses and Botanical Oils into my skincare routine has been a game-changer. Damask rose oil is celebrated for its natural hydration, antioxidant protection, calming scent, and anti-inflammatory properties. These benefits, cherished in traditional beauty rituals and supported by modern science, inspired the creation of our Rose Body Oil. Studies show that Damask rose oil contains compounds like citronellol and geraniol, which have soothing, anti-inflammatory effects, ideal for sensitive skin while also uplifting the spirit.

With our Rose Body Oil, I hope to remind you to “stop and smell the roses”—to pause and enjoy every calming, skin-loving benefit that these timeless flowers have to offer. This oil brings the essence of roses to your daily routine, a gentle reminder of the luxury in self-care and the beauty in simplicity.
